This recording begins with the team traveling from Tulchin to Pechera with Rita Shveibish and Sasha Kolodenker. The research team arrives at the sanatorium in Pechera, which was a concentration camp during the war. Shveibish and Kolodenker. discuss the history of the camp. The team arrives in the forest where the mass graves of Pechera are located and then returns to the camp in Pechera. Rita talks about how the camp was guarded with two guard towers and about how anybody who tried to escape was shot. She explains that her father was shot the day they arrived to the camp. She talks about the conditions in the camp, particularly the lack of food and water.

The team interviews Mikhail and Sara, nee Katz, Vainshelboim. (Part 1 of 2. See MDV 360) Sara was born in 1930. She discusses her childhood memories, when she went to a Jewish school and was then evacuated during the war. The conversation turns to the couple's life in Berdychiv after their return from evacuation. The tape concludes with a detailed account of Mikhail's war experience when he was on the run with his father.
